In recognition of the unfailing support, dedicated courage and commitment being given for fostering of the 'Sasana' and the country, the Sri Lanka Amarapura Mulavanshika Maha Nikaya on Saturday (February 18) conferred the honorary patriotic title, 'Sri Rohana Janaranjana Deshamanya' on Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, Commander, Security Forces - East during a ceremony held at Dehiwatta Sirivaddana Rajamaha Viharaya in Kantale.
The same ceremony, headed by Rajakeeya Panditha Mahopadya Most Venerable Ahungalle Wimaladammatissa Thero, Maha Nayake of the Sri Lanka Amarapura Mulavanshika Maha Nikaya honoured the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, Major General Saliya Amunugama and the Commander of the Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Dhammika Kumara who also contributed to those tasks along with the Commander of the Security Forces-East by conferring the same honorary title.
The ceremony spoke high of the role of officers of the armed forces and other ranks who have performed a great service to save and develop the Dehiwatta Sirivaddana Rajamaha Viharaya of historic value while it remained dilapidated and unattended.
The coordination of Ven Kalawane Kosala Tissa Thero of Dehiwatta Sirivaddana Rajamaha Viharaya facilitated the conferment of those honorary titles on those three Senior Officers.
