East Commander Makes Field Visits

With a view to familiarizing with field formations, Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Commander, Security Forces - East, conducted field visits to the 231 Brigade Headquarters and 6 Gajaba Regiment (6 GR) camp of the 233 Brigade on Tuesday (20).

The 233 Brigade Commander, Brigadier Wasantha Hewage and the Commanding Officer of 6 GR, Lieutenant Colonel RMJB Ranaraja welcomed on his arrival at the Headquarters 6 Gajaba Regiment at Nawaladi at first. Similarly, he visited the 231 Brigade HQ afterwards and met the 231 Brigade Commander, Brigadier Dilupa Bandara.

Major General Shewanth Kulathunge, General Officer Commanding, 23 Division accompanied the visiting Commander, Security Forces - East during the visits. At all the locations Major General Priyantha Jayawardene spoke to the troops at respective places and highlighted the importance of their respective duty roles.
