East Commander Makes Familiarization Visits

The recently-appointed Commander Security Forces - East, Major General Chinthaka Gamage, made his maiden familiarization visits to the 22 and 23 Division Headquarters during 9 -11 August 2020, after assuming duties as the Commander SF-E.

On Monday (9) Commander SF (E) visited the 22 Division Headquarters and was warmly received by Major General Channa Weerasooriya, General Officer Commanding, 22 Division after a Guard Turnout.

Afterwards, the Commander SF (E) addressed the troops and emphasized the need on continued professional training and continuation of the good work while maintaining the highest standards of discipline at all levels. Then, the SF Commander attended the General Officer Commanding’s briefing and discussed matters pertaining to operational, administration and welfare facilities, relevant to the 22 Division.

Next, the Commander SF (E) visited the Headquarters of the 23 Division on 11 August 2020. In line with the traditions and customs in the Army, he was warmly welcomed by the General Officer Commanding, 23 Division Major General Dhammika Jayasundara after a Guard Turnout. Later, the Commander received a thorough and comprehensive briefing, presented by the GOC in relation to the operational and administrative tasks, being carried out by the Division.
