Major General Priyantha Jayawardane, Commander, Security Forces - East made his first formal visit to the Battalion Training School at Thaulwewa under the SFHQ-East on Monday (19) where the 2 (V) Gajaba Regiment troops are undergoing training.
On arrival, the visiting Commander, SF-East was greeted to a Drive Pass salute at the Battalion Training School entrance. During the visit, the Chief Instructor, Battalion Training School, Thaulwewa briefly explained the visiting Senior Officer about the ongoing Battalion Training course in the school.
Moreover, the day’s Chief Guest addressed the course attendees and highlighted the importance of training and discipline.
Finally, the visiting Commander had a word with course instructors regarding their training schedules and requirements for the trainees.
Major General Sanath Aluvihare, General Officer Commanding, 22 Division, Colonel Sujeewa Rathnayaka, Commander, 221 Brigade together with Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the day’s event.
