DSCSC Foreign Student Officers En Route Visit Mullaittivu & Kilinochchi

Eighteen foreign military student Officers from Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia and Sudan currently following the Staff Course No. 14 at the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) in Sri Lanka along with their family members were taken on a tour to the Security Force HQ - Kilinochchi and Security Force HQ- Mullaittivu on Monday (31) as part of their familiarization tour.

At Kilinochchi, those Student Officers were warmly received by the Commanding Officer of 9 Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Lieutenant Colonel M.P.C.B Jayashantha on behalf of Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi. Afterwards, they paid their respect to late Corporal Gamini Kularatne (Hasalaka Gamini) monument at Elephant Pass on their return from Jaffna. The 2nd In Command of 1 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Major T.K.E Madawala briefed about history and importance of late Corporal Gamini Kularatne’s sacrifice at Elephant pass.

During their arrival in Mullaittivu, those student Officers were warmly received by Brigadier Upali Rajapaksha, General Officer Commanding, 68 Division on behalf of Major General Jagath Rathnayake, Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu. During their visit, they witnessed a demonstration on mechanism of collecting fish by fishnet (Ma-Dela). After a special presentation and a discussion held on humanitarian operations carried out by the Sri Lanka Army, the day's itinerary came to end.trace affiliate link | Nike
