DLB Reciprocates Army Assistance at 'Deyata Kirula' with Support to SLLI Welfare Roles

Development Lotteries Board (DLB) on Friday (28) offered its financial assistance towards the welfare of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) soldiers after several DLB officials, called at the Commander’s office at the Army Headquarters.

The DLB donation was made possible, following the support the DLB received from the SLLI soldiers in the sale of entry tickets to the recently-ended ‘Deyata Kirula - 2014’ mega exhibition at Kuliyapitiya.

The DLB maintained that a large sum of money that would have been paid otherwise to civil sector employees, engaged in the sale of entrance tickets as in the previous years, was thus saved this year, owing to the committed involvement of SLLI soldiers in the sale of entrance tickets at Kuliyapitiya ‘Deyata Kirula’ at the request of the DLB.

It was that percentage of money the DLB has earned was accordingly awarded to the SLLI as a token of their gratitude to the untiring service of SLLI soldiers at the venue during the ‘Deyata Kirula’.

Those DLB officials, including its Chairman, Dr Chandrawansa Pathiraja, Mr Gamini Ekanayake, Working Director, Mr Madhawa Dewasurendra, General Manager, Mr Anura Jayaratne, Deputy General Manager (Marketing), Ms Vijitha Somaratne, Deputy General Manager (Finance) and Mr Kasun Jayasuriya, Assistant General Manager (Finance) after a cordial discussion with the Commander on different SLLI welfare programmes in progress, presented a cheque to the value of Rs 4 million to the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake at the Commander’s office.
