Distribution of Spectacles to Kilinochchi Civilians under First Phase Begins

In another community-oriented project, launched by the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), 40 more Kilinochchi civilians, suffering from sight impairments, received free pairs of spectacles during a distribution programme that took place on Saturday (12) at the Nelum Piyasa auditorium in Kilinochchi, following sponsorship, provided by the Vision Care Optical Services - Colombo.

The project, coordinated by the 65 Division Headquarters of the SFHQ-KLN earlier in July, under the supervision of Major General Sarath Weerawardena selected 200 Kilinochchi civilians in need of spectacles after they were examined in separate mobile eye clinics by optometrists. The first phase of the spectacle distribution programme accordingly selected 40 civilians out of those examined, following close cooperation of the Vision Care Optical Services - Colombo.

Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi, GOC, 57 Division, Commander, FMA, Kilinochchi, Mr Krishanthe Zoysa and staffers in the Vision Care Optical Services - Colombo attended the occasion.
