The Directorate of Information Technology (Dte of IT) at Army Headquarters marked its 14th Anniversary with a series of events conducted under the guidance of Brigadier H.D.J.P Weerathunga, the Director of Information Technology, on 01 March 2024.
The anniversary celebrations commenced with a group photograph capturing the spirit of unity among the Dte of IT staff. Following this, the Director of Dte of IT engaged in an interactive session with the staff during an All-Ranks tea session.
During the ceremony, appreciation certificates were awarded to individuals serving in various capacities, including the Network Operation Center, System Solution Section, Web Cell, and Software Development wing, recognizing their outstanding contributions. Civil servants were also acknowledged for their dedicated service and presented with gift packs as tokens of appreciation.
The troops participated in a bodhi pooja ceremony to honor and remember the sacrifices of fallen war heroes. As part of the anniversary festivities, a cricket tournament was organized on 09 March 2024 at Laya Leisure Kukuleganga, adding a touch of sportsmanship and friendly competition to the celebrations.
