Differently Able War Heroes Sing 'Vesak Devotional Songs' in Gampaha

Gampaha-based ‘Siyanewe Api’ organization jointly with the 'Eksath Mithuru Havula' of Oruthota, Gampaha, giving prominence to the aesthetic skills of 11 differently able War Heroes of the Army facilitated the presentation of their singing talents in a special Vesak devotional song display in the 'Sadaham Vesak Zone' during April 29 - May 1.

Those 10 recently married differently able War Heroes whose matrimonial ceremonies were patronized by the ‘Siyanewe Api’ as a special tribute to their dedicated services for the country were invited to show their skills.

Together with the famous differently-able singer of the VIR, Corporal Charith Kulathilake, those 11 War Heroes presented their music talents on Monday (30) evening in the 'Sadaham Vesak Kalapaya' at Oruthota by singing an array of devotional songs that commemorated the birth, enlightenment and the Parinibbhana of the Buddha.

Before a gathering of distinguished invitees, those War Heroes and their spouses presented rhythmic beats, highlighting the importance of the Buddhist phenomenon.

Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army has given his blessings to the project after the organizers wrote to the Commander of the Army seeking his permission for them to take part in the event. Brigadier Shantha Thirunavukarusu, Director Rehabilitation facilitated the participation in close coordination with those organizers in Gampaha.
