Differently Able War Heroes Show Their Talents

THE “RANAVIRU TALENT SHOW”, a variety entertainment programme at Ragama Ranaviru Sevana to showcase the talents of disabled War Heroes was held during the weekend.

Mrs. Manjulika Jayasooriya, President Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) attended the occasion as Chief Guest. She was received on arrival by Mrs Preethi Samaratunga, President Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Unit.

The show started after lighting the traditional oil lamp by invited guests and observance of a two-minute silence in honour of fallen War Heroes. Mrs Samaratunga welcomed the guests for the occasion.  

The event inclusive of dancing and singing competitions among disabled War Heroes was sponsored by Sri Lankan Airlines. Sri Lankan Airline Staff members also added colour by singing to the music melodies provided by Seeduwa Sarasi Music Band.

 The show has been coordinated by Sri Lankan Airlines officials and Army senior officers, including Brigadier E P de Z Abeysekara, Brigadier D R V Samaratunga, Sri Lankan Airlines staff led by its Chief Executive Officer Mr Manoj Gunawardane, SVAB Vice President Mrs Damayanthi Rathnayake and senior SVAB members.

 Mrs Probodha Gunewardena, Vice President Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Unit proposed vote of thanks after gifts were distributed among winners in different categories. Mrs Deepal Pallegangoda, Chief Organizer for Sri Lankan Airlines presented the motive behind the project at the beginning of the day’s agenda.    
 
 It was a day of fun and relaxation for physically handicapped War Heroes under rehabilitation at Ragama Ranaviru Sevana, thanks to the efforts of the organizers.
