The Director General General Staff (DGGS) at the Army HQ, Major General S.U.M.N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, made an official visit to the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) on Thursday (April 27) with the objective of receiving updates on administrative, welfare and functional aspects of the SFHQ-East and its under command troops.
The visiting DGGS was warmly welcomed by Major General S.R.K Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces - East at the entrance to the Security Force Headquarters - East after he was greeted with a Guard Turnout salute In accordance with military traditions.
After a while, he participated in a conference at the SFHQ-E conference hall where most important practical matters and issues prevailing in under command formations were taken up for discussion and resolution.
The conference culminated after presentation of mementos to the DGGS by the Commander, Security Forces-East as symbols of appreciation.
General Officers Commanding of 22 and 24 Infantry Divisions, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Staff Officers of General Staff Branches of the SFHQ-East joined the discussion with the DGGS.
The DGGS also took time off to inspect the Regional Ordnance Stores Complex in Punani, 23 Infantry Division HQ and the Battalion Training School. Major General S.R.K Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, the Commander, Security Forces - East, Brigadier Eranda Rathnayake, Brigadier General Staff of the SFHQ-E and Staff officers in the General Staff Branch at the Army HQ were associated with those visits.
