Major General M.T.K.R Silva KSP, the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) visited the 3 Sri Lanka National Guard (3 SLNG) at Kawanthissapura on 04 April 2024.
Upon arrival at the 3 SLNG, the Deputy Commandant was honoured in a Drive Pass by the troops of the Unit. Subsequently, the Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer, Major C.R Dissanayake and delivered a comprehensive briefing on the functions of the 3 SLNG.
Adding memories to the day, the Deputy Commandant was invited to pose for a few group photographs with the Battalion staff and also invited to plant a sapling in the compound. Following this, the Senior Officer addressed the troops, followed by an All-Ranks tea session.
Afterwards, an exchange of mementos was took place marking the visit. Towards the end, the Deputy Commandant penned down some complimentary remarks in the visitors’ book.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were also present during the visit.
