Captain Gerald Koch, Defence Attaché together with Lieutenant Colonel André Niedhoefer, Deputy Defence Attaché of German Embassy in New Delhi, India, accredited also to Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh, during a visit to Sri Lanka paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu at the Army Headquarters on Monday (16 Oct).
The cordial interactive meet led both parties to exchange views on general matters of concern while recalling bonds of goodwill, cooperation and understanding that prevail between the Armed Forces of both countries.
They also discussed possibilities of further enhancing training programmes for Sri Lankan Army personnel as well as the participation of Armed Forces of both countries in different exchange programmes.
Before the culmination of the cordial meeting, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage symbolized the goodwill of the Sri Lanka Army by awarding mementoes to Captain Gerald Koch and Lieutenant Colonel André Niedhoefer. The gesture was reciprocated.
