DCOS Undertakes Inspection Visit to the RVAPL

The Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) of the Army and Chairman, Board of Management (BoM) for 'Ranaviru Apparels', Major General Channa Weerasuriya made his first formal visit to the 'Ranaviru Apparels' (RVAPL) factory at Yakkala in order to receive firsthand experience of its functional aspects on Wednesday (10).

Major General Hirosh Wanigasekera, Master General Ordnance, and Brigadier Indrajith Vithanachchi, Director Ordnance Services joined the visit.

The day's itinerary began with a field visit to the factory compound after the visiting DCOS was received by Brigadier Azad Izadeen, Commandant - RVAPL, together with Brigadier Amila Wasage, Deputy Commandant in the company of several other senior officers.

He afterwards received a briefing about the factory process and the factory layout before he was invited to plant a Mango sapling as a symbol of memory of his visit to the location. During discussions that followed, the DCOS assured all possible assistance to upgrade the standards of the factory to achieve desired production targets and with a special focus on the production of high-quality uniforms for the SL Army.

He also extended his sincere gratitude to the Commandant and All Ranks, including differently able War Heroes serving the RVAPL for the success story of the project.

Towards the end of the day’s proceedings, the DCOS placed his signature in the Visitors’ book as a memory of his visit to the RVAPL.
