Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Regiment HQ inaugurated its newly-built Basketball Court on Saturday (July 08) morning at the SLLI Regiment HQ in Panagoda during a ceremony, headed by Major General C.D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu, Chief of Staff of the Army and the Colonel of the Regiment of SLLI.
The court consists of a pavilion with modern facilities and has the capability of conducting matches during evening hours without any inconvenience. The project was carried out under the guidance of Colonel M.P.S.P Kulasekara WWV RWP RSP, SLLI Centre Commandant and Senior Officers in line with the guidelines given by Major General C.D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu.
Just after the inauguration, a friendly game was played between two groups of Army Basketball team players. Towards the end chief guest gave away certificates to the participants.
Major General S.R.K Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General G.M.N Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, General Officer Commanding of 22 Infantry Division, Regimental Staff Officers, Commanding Officers of SLLI Battalions, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks witnessed the events.
