Major General Channa Weerasuriya, Chief of Staff (COS) recently visited the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ - West) on Friday (Mar 24) with the intention of conducting the routine administration inspection on the SFHQ - West.
The Senior Officer upon arrival was warmly welcomed by Major General Deepal Pussella, Commander, SF - West after troops greeted him with a Guard Turnout at the entrance. Adding memories to the day, he planted a sapling in the compound.
Afterwards, the COS began the formal proceedings of the administration inspection at the SFHQ - West conference hall highlighting the importance of conduct of routine administrative inspection rounds. He inquired into functional aspects as regards Divisions and Brigades and wanted to find out whether they continue to follow stipulated procedures of the Army or are in need of solutions to pending issues in respective formations.
Respective Directors and Staff Officers of different Directorates and Branches tabled their observations and laid down procedures, related to the resolution of such issues.
Towards the end of the proceedings, the Commander, SF - West presented a memento to the COS as a token of appreciation and he left a complimentary note in the SFHQ-West visitors' book before his exit from the location.
General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of the SFHQ - West and several Senior Officers took part in the administrative inspection discussion.
