Troops of the 53 Reserve Division in Inamaluwa, Dambulla under the command of the Army Commander on account of their 23rd anniversary, held a number of commemorative programmes on Saturday (22) September.
Under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding - 53 Division, Major General Athula Koddippily, they first provided a lunch treat and distributed a stock of sanitary-ware and essential medicines among differently-able children at Child Care Centre (Children’s Home) in Kekirawa.
Similarly, in order to enhance the sports ability and military coherence among the troops serving in Brigades and Battalions under the Division, several tournaments were organized including cricket, football, volleyball and swimming, followed by its certificate and trophy awarding ceremony, headed by the GOC of the 53 Division.
