51 Division troops in Kopay under Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna (SFHQ-J) on Army Day (October 10) conducted a series of community-oriented projects in several areas.
Distribution of dry rations to the needy, provision of meals to elders at an Elders’ Home, donation of blood, conduct of Shramadana at Jaffna Teaching Hospital, garbage clearing programmes, etc were among some of the major projects carried out by those troops to coincide with the 62nd Army anniversary.
Hundreds of soldiers of the 23 Gajaba Regiment meanwhile colourwashed a children’s home in Jaffna and gave away gift parcels to those children.
