Aimed at improving the physical fitness and stamina for sportsmanship of the Commandos serving the Regimental Centre at Ganemulla, steps were taken to refurbish and renovate the 'Maroons' Squash Court' and 'Captain J F S De Fonseka' Memorial Gymnasium before both were vested in the Commandos on Tuesday (26) during a simple ceremony.
Both locations were renovated as per directions of Major General Crishantha Gnanarathna, Colonel of the Regiment, Commando Regiment and Commander 1 Corps who also joined the opening ceremony.
The day's Chief Guest for the opening admired the contribution of all Officers and Other Ranks who worked committedly to renovate the facilities and vest them in the troops.
The Centre Commandant, Commando Regimental Centre, Brigadier B. M. K. K Dharmawardena, Officers and Other Ranks attended the opening ceremony.
