Hundreds of troops serving under the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) warmly welcomed the visiting Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Army on Friday (18) when he made his first visit to the SFHQ-KLN after he assumed office as the new Commander of the Army.
The day’s agenda commenced after Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi (SF-KLN) welcomed the visiting Army Chief on arrival. In accordance with military formalities, the Commander at the entrance reviewed the Guard Turnout and was conducted afterwards to receive the Guard of Honour, accorded in his honour at the parade ground.
Thereafter, the visiting Commander addressed a large gathering of Officers and Other Ranks, in which he spelt out his vision for the Army and his intended welfare projects. He also wanted everyone to become full-pledged with professional expertise and dedicate with utmost discipline and commitment. He also shared views with representative Officers and Other Ranks who were present there during refreshments.
