Commander Speaks to West Troops at Panagoda

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army with the objective of meeting troops serving the areas under the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ - West) went to the SFHQ - West at Panagoda on Wednesday (22 November) morning.

Major General W.H.K.S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, Commander, Security Forces - West, together with Major General R.A.J.N Ranasinghe RSP USP ndu, General Officer Commanding, 61 Infantry Division cordially welcomed the Commander of the Army on his arrival at the premises to meet the troops.

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage addressing the troops, assembled at the location after a while reminded, current welfare projects of the Army, ongoing Army restructuring programme as well as the Army Strength Management System and Asset Management System. He also underlined the importance of maintaining the highest standards of discipline at all levels.

At the end of the troop address, the Commander, Security Forces - West presented a special memento to the Commander of the Army in appreciation of his presence at the HQ. The gesture was reciprocated.

General Officers Commanding, Directors, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks serving under the SFHQ - West attended the troop address.
