Commander Speaks to West Troops at Panagoda

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army, Tuesday (14) evening took time off to address the troops, attached to the Security Force HQ-West (SFHQ-West) and its under command establishments, including Regimental Centres.

The address, attended by a representative gathering of more than four digit of Army personnel took place at the Army Gymnasium premises in Panagoda.

During the address, the Army Chief highlighted the importance of maintaining the highest standards of discipline and educated them about the challenges that the current operational environment has presented highlighting the importance of the efficiency of the Army. Commander of the Army advised to maintain maximum operational readiness through training, planning and forecasting.

The Army Chief did not mince words to remind the gathering of the need to support the democratic process of the country while protecting its Constitution and the State and appealed all to support to ensure the wellbeing of the population in the country.

In presenting information on multiple fronts, the Commander of the Army reminded the gathering of welfare benefits being shared in the organization. He also told the gathering that the Army is determined to continue with current welfare projects in progress for the greater benefit of all ranks despite constraints.

Chief of Staff, Major General C.D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu, Deputy Chief of Staff, Major General D.G.S Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Major General W.A.S.S Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks were associated with the occasion.
