The recently-appointed Commander Security Forces-East (SF-East), Major General U.D Wijesekara RWP RSP USP rcds psc, made his first field visit to the 22 Infantry Division in Trincomalee and its under command Infantry Brigades and Battalions during 16- 17 June 2023.
Accordingly, at first, he visited the 22 Infantry Division HQ, 221 Infantry Brigade, 20 Gajaba Regiment and 2 (V) Gajaba Regiment units on Friday (16 June) and he called at the 223 Infantry Brigade, 222 Infantry Brigade, 5 Sri Lanka Artillery, 15 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment and 24 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment units, the following day (17 June).
All the respective establishment chiefs comprehensively briefed the visiting Senior Officer on the role and tasks of their units before he addressed troops.
Meanwhile, during his visit Major General U.D Wijesekara RWP RSP USP rcds psc, Commander Security Forces-East paid obeisance to the sacred Seruwila temple and received blessings.
Major General G.M.N Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of Security Force Headquarters - East and Senior officers were also associated with the visit.
