Major General Deepal Pussella, Commander Security Forces - West, made fields visits to the 61 Division Headquarters, 613 Brigade HQ and their under command Battalions and 612 Brigade HQ and their under command Battalions during 17 - 18 August.
At each centre, the visiting West Commander received comprehensive briefings, focused on the role and tasks of each establishment in relation to community services, security, welfare projects and other matters of concern.
Respective General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers serving under the SFHQ-West presented separate briefings to Major General Deepal Pussella.
Addressing the troops during this two-day visit, the West Commander emphasized the importance of the discipline of the soldiers, man management, performance of duties in tense circumstances, use of social media, prevention of terrorist activities, vehicle accidents and security developments, etc and commended their roles in the recent past.
He also during visits inspected facilities, kitchen utensils and all other accessories available in all those camps.
The General Officer Commanding of 61 Division, Major General Mohan Rathnayaka, Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Adming and Quartering, Brigadier (Coord) of Security Forces (West) and several Staff Officers of 61 Division accompanied the West Commander during the visit.
