Commander Pays Respect to Former Soldier-turned Veteran Actor

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army, together with the Adjutant General of the Army, Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc this morning (3) paid his last respect to the veteran actor, late Mr Amarasiri Kalansuriya who had also served the Army some years ago.

The Army Chief interacted with close relatives and recalled late actor's cinematic career and how he rose to the apex of popularity as an idol.

Before he took to acting, he had also served the Army as a Lance Corporal in the 2(V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) after he joined the Army in the year 1963.
