Commander-initiated New Mobile Polyclinic Provides Medical Care to Hasalaka Villagers

A novel concept, mooted by General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army for the best interests of interior underprivileged rural folk, unable to afford for specialist medical consultations came into effect on Sunday (14) when the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) personnel at the Colombo Army Hospital staged a mobile polyclinic with a variety of Medical Specialists/Physicians at Hasalaka where hundreds of villagers sought medical consultations and treatment.

The joint project launched in close collaboration with the ‘Sirasa’ TV ‘Suwa Yathra’ programme and the SLAMC was comprised of General Physicians, Cardiologists, Gynaecologists, Orthopaedic surgeons, ENT Specialists, Nutritionists, Urologists, Neurologists, Paediatricians and a mobile drug storage, an X-ray unit plus clinical beds and all other medical accessories, organized under the close supervision of Brigadier (Dr) Chrishantha Fernando, Director General of Sri Lanka Army Medical Services.

The mother of the most respected Hasalaka War Hero, late Gamini Kularatne was also among the civilians who came there to receive medical attention. It was held at Hasalaka Minipe Bandaranaike Vidyalaya premises.

The mobile health care facility that provides both general and specialist examinations and treatment for a wide variety of diseases and injuries to outpatients drew a large crowd since those patients are compelled otherwise to reach either Kandy or Badulla Hospitals for specialist consultations.

Major General Sarada Samarakoon, 11 Division, Brigadier (Dr) Chrishantha Fernando, and a selected group of medical professionals, Officers and Other Ranks were associated with the arrangement.Sports brands | SUPREME , Fullress , スニーカー発売日 抽選情報 ニュースを掲載!ナイキ ジョーダン ダンク シュプリーム SUPREME 等のファッション情報を配信! - パート 5
