Commander Asks Seniors to Look After Soldiers with Highest Possible Facilities

"It is your prime responsibility to ensure the welfare of the men you command. Therefore, I insist that the soldiers must be well looked after with the highest possible facilities. Be mindful, and responsible when you are presiding or being members of the tender boards. Ensure that you will not contribute in selecting substandard stuff for the use of your men. "The Sri Lanka Army 'Way forward Strategy 2020-2025" identifies transforming the Sri Lanka Army as a ready, reliable, relevant, resilient and respectable force and our key objectives in the next five years. I am counting on you to be active participants in all of these processes and changes and achieve measurable results and success in serving our motherland and our country's people. As you are well aware, today in addition to traditional military threats, the necessity to respond to more complex threats that combine military and non-military means has become emphasized. Many of the recent crises around the world bear witness to the fact that ground forces and controlling land areas remain crucial today.
