Commander among Invitees to the KDU Convocation at BMICH

General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) undergraduates of different academic disciplines, including Management, Engineering, Technical Sciences, Commerce, and Arts received their graduation upon successful completion of their studies during convocations held on 3 and 4 October at the BMICH.

Those read for MPhil, Master's, and Bachelor's degrees thus received their parchments and certificates during the ceremony.

The concluding session of the convocation took place on 4 October and it was graced by Hon. President Ranil Wickremesinghe, as the Chief Guest.

Hon. President, Ranil Wickremesinghe presented parchments to the students who had excelled in their respective fields of study during the convocation. In his address, Hon. President Wickremesinghe extended his warmest congratulations to all the new graduates of the year 2023, commending their remarkable achievements in their academic spheres.

Kamal Gunaratne (Rtd) WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc MPhil, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General S.H.S Kottegoda (Rtd) WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc, Chancellor of KDU, General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army together with Mrs Janaki Liyanage, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit, Commanders of the Navy and Air Force, Inspector General of the Police, Heads of universities, government officials, Academic Staff of the KDU, Tri-Service officers, Parents of the graduates and a large gathering of distinguished invitees witnessed the day’s proceedings.
