Commander Addresses Woman Soldiers at SLAWC Headquarters


Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake after assumption of duties as the Commander of the Army for the first time, made a formal visit to the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) Headquarters at Borella Friday (22) evening.

At the entrance after the Commander was received by Major General Lal Perera, Colonel of the Regiment, SLAWC, a drive pass greeted the visiting Commander of the Army.

Lieutenant General Ratnayake during his stay at the SLAWC headquarters was invited to launch the new SLAWC website after he addressed all the troops at the Carey College auditorium where he underlined the importance of maintaining the highest levels of discipline.

Distribution of gift parcels among family members of fallen war heroine were also took place.

To mark this occasion Major General Lal Perera presented a memento to the Commander and before his exit from the SLAWC headquarters, the Commander left his signature on the VIP book at the Headquarters.
