Major General C.D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu, Chief of Staff and Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment (SLLI) made field visits to 12,15,19,23 and 14 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment units during 8-11 June to 11 June.
Commanding Officers of respective battalions warmly welcomed the visiting Colonel of the Regiment and Chief of staff before they briefly tabled their present engaging roles and tasks. The day's guest addressed the troops and stated the importance of high level of discipline as soldiers and the value of military life. He also inquired about the existing welfare facilities and administrative issues they are faced with and gave necessary directions to respective Commanding Officers to rectify those issues.
During his visits, Major General C.D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu declared opened the newly-erected Main Entrance Gate and Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess in the 15 SLLI, located in Mollipatham, Trincomalee. The visiting Senior Officer appreciated their efforts and congratulated the troops for their future endeavours.
Colonel M.P.S.P Kulasekara WWV RWP RSP, Center Commandant, SLLI Regimental Center and a few senior Staff officers of SLLI Regimental Headquarters were also associated with the visits.
