Colombo Hotel Sponsors Push Bicycles to Students

With the patronage, extended by Hilton Hotel and Resort, Colombo, 14 Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops of the 621 Brigade of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) coordinated the distribution of 51 more push bicycles among students in remote schools in the Welioya Divisional Secretariat.

Coordinated by the troops, the event recently took place at Sampathnuwara National School where 26 push bicycles to Sampathnuwara National School students, 6 bicycles to students in Ethawetunuwewa School, 11 bicycles to students at Kaliyanpura School and 8 bicycles to students at Gajabapura were distributed in the presence of representative donors, 621 Brigade Commander, 14 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 17 Sri Lanka National Guard Commanding Officers, principals, teachers, students and civilians.

Those recipients included girls attending schools from far remote corners of those villages in the Welioya Divisional Secretariat. A push bicycle ride to the school will facilitate them greatly, considering transport difficulties in some of those rural areas.
