Troops at the Colombo Army Hospital arranged a series of awareness lectures, special medical clinics and counseling services during November 13-16 on account of the World Diabetes Day (Nov 14) at the Hospital premises.
The series was arranged according to the ‘Healthy Army-Healthy Nation’ programme which functions under the guidance of Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army with the intention of preventing 'Diabetes' through awareness lectures, special medical clinics and counseling services.
Brigadier A.S.M Wijewardena USP, along with a group of medical experts, including Consultant Physiologist Kamal Ariyasinghe and Consultant Physiologist D.R.K Dayarathna, conducted a series of awareness lectures. Additionally, another series of medical services were provided, encompassing Psychological Counseling Service, Eye Consultation Service, Dental Consultancy Service, and more.
Troops of the Security Forces - West, patients and families and a large crowd of visitors took part in those arrangements.
