Civil Experts Lecture during Seminar on Gunnery at SLA Headquarters


Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) Regiment which has performed and unmatched role in the fight against terrorism had its annual seminar on ‘Gunnery’ at its School of Artillery, Minneriya during December 23 - 24.

The annual event attended by a large gathering of senior Army officers and several experts in the field of Gunnery had extensive deliberations on topical use of Gunnery in modern warfare, new productions and their application, capabilities and future trends in Global Positioning System (GPS) and the re-employment in field artillery, preservation and maintenance of SLC 12 radar system, prevention of guns, ammunitions and optical equipment, acquisition and development of tactical air defence system to cover tactical formation in battle system, integrations of field artillery stimulate to artillery training and field artillery stimulate system.

Dr Kasun De Zoysa, Senior Lecturer in Faculty of Colombo University delivered a special lecture to the session and enlightened the gathering followed by a question - answer intermission.

Major General J. C. Rambukpotha, Colonel Commandant, SLA Regiment and 26 senior officers followed the two days seminar.
