CIJW - 31 & CIJW - 32 Course Attendees at Maduru Oya ATS Receive Certificates

The certificate-awarding ceremonies of the Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare Course No - 31 (CIJW) for Officers and the Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare (CIJW) Course No - 32 for Other Ranks got separately underway recently at the Army Training School in Maduruoya (ATS), headed by Major General Senaka Kasthurimudali, Commandant, ATS who graced both occasions as the Chief Guest.

The CIJW Course No - 31 consisted of 27 Officers, including 5 foreign officers from Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan. Similarly, 21 Army Officers and 1 Navy Officer followed the course during the period 8 August to 06 December. Captain A.A.P.V Suraweera of Sri Lanka Engineers was awarded as the Best Student Officer of the Course.

Meanwhile, 73 soldiers, who successfully completed the Jungle Warfare (CIJW) Course No - 32 were awarded certificates last Wednesday (Nov 30) in the presence of Major General Senaka Kasthurimudali, Commandant of Army Training School (ATS). Corporal D.M.P Dissanayake of 11 Gemunu Watch was adjudged the best student in the course which continued for 60 working days starting from 05 September 2022 up to 30 November 2022.

Lectures and outdoor training exercises were among training modules of both Courses. Colonel Kumara Ranathungamage, Commanding Officer of ATS, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the occasion.
