Chief of Staff Takes a Look at Construction Work at New Army Hospital at Pallekele

Major General Vikum Liyanage, Chief of Staff of the Army on Thursday (3) inspected the progress of the new Army Hospital under construction at Pallekele, adjacent to the 11 Division HQ.

During this visit, a discussion was held at the hospital auditorium with Officer Commanding of the 172 Corps of Engineer Services (CES) squadron in charge of the hospital construction and received an update on the progress. Possibilities of proper maintenance were also discussed during the meet.

Major General Kalpa Sanjeewa, General Officer Commanding, 11 Division welcomed the visiting Chief of Staff to the location and accompanied him to show around where new wards, the dental section, ICU, ETU, surgery room, kitchen unit, administration office, etc are now almost done.

Director, Corps of Engineer Services (CES), Master General Ordnance, Director General Army Health Services, Director Sports, Director Ordnance Services, and Staff Officers of the 11 Division were associated with the occasion as the construction work is fast nearing completion.

On his way Major General Vikum Liyanage also had a look at the construction work of the new Army Hockey ground in Pallekele.
