Central Troops Restore Transport Movements Clearing Boulders

Combined Army teams of the 112 Brigade under the 11 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-Cen) rising to the need of the hour on Sunday (27) evening rushed to adverse weather-affected Kumbalwela-Ella main road and Haputale areas and cleared them of boulders, trees and large mounds of soil.

A huge boulder that has fallen from a mountain completely cut off the transport movement along Kumbalwela-Ella main road disrupting normalcy. On being informed, Major General Laksiri Waduge, Commander, Security Forces - Central instructed the 112 Brigade Commander to take necessary steps to clear the road as early as possible and restore transport movement. A group of 25 Army personnel after spending more than four hours restored normalcy having removed those obstacles and facilitated the resumption of transport movements.

Similarly, 1 officer and 20 Other Ranks around 6.30 pm on Sunday (27) removed huge trees that had fallen on Badulla - Colombo main road near Haputale junction and facilitated transport movements along the road. The emergency need took the troops a few hours. best Running shoes | Patike
