The retiring Major General Samantha Silva, Commander, Security Forces - Central on Monday (7) during a formal farewell ceremony, at the SF HQ - Central premises, was saluted in accordance with military traditions.
A Guard Turnout at the entrance upon his arrival saluted him before he was invited to receive the salute in the Guard of Honour, presented at the SFHQ - Central parade square on his behalf.
During the formal troop address, he thanked all ranks for the support they extended during their tenure and urged them to cooperate with the incoming Commander in the same manner while safeguarding the reputation of the organization. Group photographs and refreshments brought the simple ceremony to an end.
Commander FMA - Central, General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Offices, Senior Staff Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the formal ceremony.
