Major General Mohan Rathnayake, Commander, Security Forces-Central with 60 of his Central region troops supported the conduct of the religious procession and the 1st year anniversary project of the relic chamber at Sri Sudarshanarama Temple in Haldummulla, Bandarawela at the request of its Chief Incumbent, Ven. Kahagolle Ananda Thero.
Troops carrying 50 Lord Buddha statues, made of brass and 72 'Atapirikara' (eight offerings to monks) on Sunday (Mar 19) joined the Perhera that wended its way to the Sri Sudarshanarama Temple, Haldummulla after parading through several villages.
Major General Mohan Rathnayake also joined the procession and participated in religious observances where blessings were invoked on the troops and fallen ones remembered transferring merits.
