Central Commander Undertakes Formal Visits

Major General Vikum Liyanage, Commander, Security Forces-Central recently conducted familiarization visits to the 12 Division areas of responsibility after assuming office as the Commander SF-Central.

During this visit, the Commander Security Forces -Central was honoured in a Guard Turnot at the entrance to the 12 Division HQ after he was received by Major General Prasanna Ranawaka, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division.

Afterwards, Major General Vikum Liyanage sat for a group photo and planted a sapling to mark his formal visit to the place before the General Officer Commanding, 12 Division, presented a briefing on the role and tasks in the area. Afterwards, he addressed the troops, followed by an all rank tea and left memories in the visitor's book.

Next, he continued his visits to the 122 Brigade, 23 Gajaba Regiment camp and 3 Sri Lanka National Guard camp. After a while, he extended his visit to the 121 Brigade, 20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment camp and 18 Gemunu Watch battalion in the 121 Brigade area.

All of those events were held under strict adherence to health guidelines. Few Senior officers of the Security Force Headquarters Central, Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers of respective battalions joined the visits.
