Central Commander Receives Blessings

Major General Keerthi Costa after his recent assumption of duties as the Commander, Security Forces - Central (SF-Cen) on Thursday (23) paid his homage to the most sacred Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of Tooth) in Kandy and called on Mahanayake Theros (High Prelates) of Malwatte and Asgiriya Chapters in keeping with age-old traditions.

At first, he received religious blessings at the Dalada Maligawa where he was welcomed by the Diyawadana Nilame (chieftain) at the sacred place of worship. After religious offerings, he called on Most Ven Thibbotuwawe Sri Sumangalabhidana Maha Nayake of Malwatte Chapter at his monastery before he had an audience with Most Ven Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathanabhidana Maha Nayake Thero of Asgiriya Chapter at his monastery in Asgiriya.

Later on, he visited the Nelligala International Buddhist Centre at Nelligala and received blessings from Ven Wathurakumbure Dhammarathana Thero, Founder Nelligala International Buddhist Centre and Chief Incumbent Yathilagala Royal Temple.

At all these places, Buddhist monks chanting ‘Seth Pirith’ invoked blessings on his new appointment and shared views with him.
