CAVT Turns One Year Old

The Centre for Army Vocational Training (CAVT) at Saliyawewa, Kalaoya celebrated its first anniversary with a series of anniversary programmes during 3 - 16 May.

An offering of ‘Kiri Pidu’ (milky food ) to the deities at Aiyyanayake Kovil, conduct of ‘Shramadana’ to clean an elders’ home near the CAVT, a holy mass at Lurdu Matha Catholic church, conduct of ‘Bodhi Pooja’, distribution of a gift pack to a needy family and military traditions were among major highlights in the programme.

The Commandant of the CAVT was also honoured in a Guard Turnout and a Parade by the troops to be in line with military formalities on Tuesday (16).

A troop address, planting of a sapling in the camp premises and an All Rank lunch brought anniversary features to an end.
