British Royal Army Delegation Meets Lady Officers

A delegation from the British Royal Army on Thursday (8) with the objective of discussing gender issues, related to woman soldiers called at the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Headquarters (RHQ SLAWC) at Borella.

The cordial discussion, led by Brigadier Chaminda Thibbotuge, Center Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps and a representative group of lady Officers from the Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Military Intelligence Corps, Corps of Engineer Services, Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps and Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps enabled both visitors and their host to receive a thorough understanding of the issues at local and international levels.

Those visitors also received a comprehensive briefing on the diverse SLAWC roles and the discussion was requested by the British High Commission in Sri Lanka with the approval of the Commander of the Army.
