British High Commission’s Defence Adviser Visits War College

Colonel Paul Clayton MBE of the British Army, Defence Adviser of the British High Commission, Colombo paid a courtesy visit to the Army War College, Buttala on Thursday (13).

Colonel Paul Clayton was warmly welcomed by the Deputy Commandant and the Chief Instructor of the War College. Then, the Defence Adviser met the Commandant of the Army War College, Brigadier Y.A.B.M Yahampath at the Commandant’s office accompanied by the Senior Officers of the College where Colonel Clayton was presented a plaque by the Commandant to mark the visit.

Thereafter, Colonel Clayton received a briefing on the curriculum and the functions of the Army War College, specially related to training matters. He also discussed the possibility of providing training related assistance.

After the briefing, he also visited the Main Auditorium, Library, Defence Studies Branch and the Model Room. After that, he had a short interactive session with other officers at the War College at the Officers’ mess before his departure.
