The newly-appointed Commandant at Army Training School (ATS) Maduru Oya, Brigadier Rohitha Aluvihare assumed duties as the 37th Commandant of the Army Training School (ATS), Maduru Oya on Friday (20) during a simple ceremony.
The new ATS Commandant on arrival was honoured in a Guard Turnout and ushered to the new office by senior officers. Afterwards, amid religious blessings, he left his signature for an official document and symbolized the acceptance of his new office. Later, he planted a Mango sapling in the premises as a symbol of memory and addressed the troops.
Brigadier Rohitha Aluvihare was the Principal Staff Officer of the Volunteer Force Headquarter before this appointment. He succeeded Major General Anil Samarasiri who has now been appointed as the GOC of the 65 Division.
Colonel Anurudda Solangaarachchi, Commanding Officer - ATS, Senior Officers and Other Ranks were associated with the occasion.
