Brigadier Panduka Perera, Commander, 563 Brigade of the Security Force HQ-Wanni passed away on Friday (31) while receiving treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital at Mulleriyawa.
Medical authorities at the hospital maintained that his death could have been caused due to multiple medical complications that had developed after recovery from his recent COVID-19 infection. His remains are now lying at No. 127/2/B 'Sudarshani', Pahala Karagahamuna, Kadawatha.
Brigadier Panduka Perera joined the Sri Lanka Army on 3 November 1990 and was posted to the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR).
His funeral with military honours will take place on Monday (3rd January) at Eldeniya cemetery in Kadawatha.
