Brigadier Anil Illangakoon assumed office as the 10th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) on Monday (2) during a simple formality at the SLCMP Regimental Headquarters at Polhengoda.
The new Colonel Commandant on arrival was welcomed by Brigadier Lakshman Bamunusinhe, SLCMP Centre commandant at the main entrance and invited him to accept honours in the Guard Turnout.
Afterwards, as religious blessings were underway, Brigadier Anil Illangakoon signed an official document to signify the acceptance of the new appointment.
Few senior officers in the Regimental Centre, Commanding Officers and few Other Ranks graced the event by adhering to the health guidelines.
