To bring spirits of the new-year to the villagers of Bogaswewa, troops of the 563 Brigade under the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-(W)) organized a Sinhala and Tamil New year festival recently at Bogaswewa Suwarnagiri Rajamaha Viharaya temple premises.
Various fun-making games such as fancy dress, musical chairs, grease pole climbing, best laugh, pillow fighting, balancing, gunny bag races, cadjan-weaving, etc, added colour and entertainment throughout the whole day during the event.
Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-(W) graced the occasion as the chief guest. Ven Etambagaskada Kalyanathissa Nayaka Thero, a large gathering of senior officers including the 56 Division General Officer Commanding, 563 Brigade Commander, together with soldiers and members of the civil staff, enjoyed the day.
