Major General Aruna Jayasekera, Commander Security Forces – East (SF-E) was one among distinguished invitees at the annual inter-house sports meet at St. Michael’s College in Batticaloa on Tuesday (29).
The gathering was inspired by the presence of the Bishop of Batticaloa, Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Ponniah and Provincial Director of Education – Eastern Province Mr. M K M Mansoor along with a group of respected citizens in the area.
After witnessing outstanding talents of young athletes of the College, the Commander joined the distribution of awards to the achievers in the event amid roars of applause. A brief address by the day’s Chief Guest inspired the students and encouraged them to contribute to the harmony and co-existence in the region.
Before his departure, the Principal presented a memento to Major General Jayasekara as a token of gratitude.
