An all-night ‘Pirith’ chanting, offer of alms to monks and military formalities dominated the 1st anniversary commemorative events at the re-designated Army War College (AWC) at Buttala during 05-06 December.
Brigadier Manada Yahampath, Commandant at AWC on the anniversary day (06) received honours in a Guard Turnout and planted a ‘Bael’ sapling in the AWC premises as a token of memory.
An all rank lunch plus a musical evening on the same day brought the anniversary arrangements to an end. The AWC before its re-designation served as the Officer Career Development Centre until December 2021.
