ASVU President Visits Welfare Projects at Manning Town Residential Complex

The President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Sujeewa Nelson on Monday (31) made a field visit to Manning town residential complex at Narahenpita in order to inspect ongoing construction work, renovations and other concerns, related to the expansion of the Seva Vanitha-managed cafeteria in the premises.

Brigadier Thushara Baalasooriya, Brigadier Coordination for the Army Seva Vanitha Unit presented a briefing on its status quo and current requirements in connection with planned renovation work. Mrs Nelson afterwards observed the site and shared a few thoughts with officers and other ranks of the Corps of Engineer Services, engaged in the project. She also requested those troops to prioritize the beautification of the garden in front of the cafeteria in an attractive manner.

The welfare bakery, cafeteria and the grocery shop situated in the Manning town Place in Narahenpita are providing subsidized essentials as welfare services for troops, resident in this complex. She also during the visit inspected the new salon unit under construction, equipped with a Beauty Care Salon for females and also the Tailor Shop. She also discussed measures related to erection of a new super market in the premises.
